Project title
Mentor Programme
During networking, participants had the opportunity to talk about their ideas and find mentors who would help with their implementation.
Journalist of Ukraine’s Public Broadcasting Company Hanna Kalaur is consulted by Byvol’s co-founder Atanas Chobanov.
Hanna Kalaur tells about the decision to participate in the mentoring program: “I came because experienced journalists spoke there, from whom you can learn. After hearing Atanas’s story, I became interested in working with him. I expect that together we will solve the mystery of the origin of one organization.” And adds: “I work with large databases, in particular about offshore companies. Without my mentor, it would be much more difficult to get documents, our cooperation is already useful.”
Mentor Olena Mudra, an investigative reporter from Ukraine, explains her motivation to join the mentorship programme: “I felt that the time had come to share my experience, both in conducting investigations and in journalism in general. RE:CHARGE mentoring program provides just such an opportunity, especially for beginners. I expect to be a useful and motivating mentor for my mentee so that both parties get a cool and valuable experience that will inspire new ideas,” says the investigative journalist.” Olena has been in journalism for almost ten years, six of which have been devoted to investigative work. She cooperated with the Scheme Program: Corruption in Details (Radio Liberty), Nashi Hroshi editorial office and local online media in the Zakarpattia region. Her specialization is public procurement, declarations, and anti-corruption investigations on various topics.
Frank Sivertsen and Alexander Slotten from NRK TV delivered a lecture for the students of the master’s degree program in Law Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The topic was video formats for social media, content trends and effective tools for engaging the audience.
